Hi, I’m Scarlett!

I’m a self-taught baker, cake decorator and dessert connoisseur operating out of my home kitchen in Melbourne. I make custom cakes and desserts for weddings, birthdays, celebrations and events.

I started I Made A Cake for people wanting bespoke custom cakes, not lambeth piping.

I have a “not-too-sweet tooth”. Balance is so important to me- salty, sweet, acidic, caramelised and toasty. I focus on vibrant fillings, luxurious textures and buttercreams that are so delicious they add depth to the cake and don’t end up scraped off and left to the side.

I take my time with each cake - it’s the only way to ensure that my cakes are moist, full of deep flavour, balanced and custom designed just for you.

I’ve made wedding cakes for weddings featured in Vogue Australia and Fashion Journal; I also won first place at Melbourne’s first Cake Picnic, 2026.
